SESSION 2
OF 11

Perceiving the Field

November 10, 2021

The first program session started with Perceiving the Field, by “field” we are referring to the intersubjective–“between subjects”–space between us. At a subtle level of consciousness, this space is not simply dead air or empty, but it has qualities. The nature of these qualities is something to investigate together.  The field is a source of knowing and it is also the source for a new approach to dialogue that starts in nonseparation.

We begin the program with an intensive focus on the coherence of the field–to experience and to understand it. Why? Because this field, while ever present, provides us with a new grounding of relatedness that changes how we know and what is relevant. The importance of this coherence cannot be underestimated to really be able to participate in emergence.

The question that we explored in the session was:

Can we sense something beyond individual experience?

This is an experiential or phenomenological inquiry rather than a theoretical or abstract one. With this question, we are literally leaning in to the intersubjective dimension of human experience, which is the foundation for the developmental step of transindividuation.
