The Creative Impulse

February 23, 2022

We all have had the experience of the creative impulse–sexual desire is the creative impulse at the physical, individual inspiration and creativity is the arising of the creative impulse (Eros) at the individual level–and now we want to make way for the emergence of the creative impulse through the collective. It opens a new potential for working, thinking, and creating together. For this, we start from the intersubjective field–this coherence, wholeness–that we have been bringing to life. Leaning in, and opening to the potential, we can bring the momentum alive that unleashes a creative impulse that emerges from the collective. It means being comfortable with letting go and not knowing–with not grabbing on when something begins to move. This brings us to our question (modified by David Slade last week): Can we allow ourselves to discover and align with Eros as a collective? David’s adjustment of the question is great–because we don’t have to make it happen, manufacture it, or push it. Eros wants to come through us. We just have to let it and respond to it wholeheartedly, sensitively, and with all of our intelligence.
