Let’s be. Let’s be together.
You are warmly invited to join in a monthly half-day retreat, Interbeing Sundays, held on the last Sunday of each month in 2024 from 16:00 to 19:00 CEST. There is no fee for this—all we ask for is your precious presence. And we are grateful for any donation you might give.
In these times of enormous transition, spiritual practice becomes even more important. Certainly, it helps us individually to have greater resilience in the face of the stress and increasing polarization in society. But it does more than this. As individuals and as a group, meditation makes us more available to the direct experience of the sacredness of life. Developing and cultivating spaces where sacredness can breathe and flower is critical cultural work at this time. Further, the more fields of peace and beauty that we can open across our troubled Earth, the better. It becomes a form of sacred activism.
We will come together on Zoom the last Sunday of each month to focus on two practices: meditation and Lectio Divina. Lectio Divina means "sacred (or divine) reading." It is a collective process of reading a text multiple times to reveal its deeper resonances.
The schedule will be as follows:
First Session: Introductions & Meditation
Second Session: Lectio Divina
Third Session: Meditation
Afterwards (optional): Open Conversation
Each session lasts for 55 minutes, beginning at the top of the hour. You are encouraged to stay for the entire retreat. The "official" program will end with the second meditation, and you are invited to stay to share your experience with others from the retreat. You are very welcome to stay for as long as you are able after the program is over.
16:00 – 19:00 CEST (Berlin)
10:00am – 1:00pm EDT (New York)
7:00am – 10:00am PDT (San Francisco)
To find the time at your location, check World Time Buddy.
Once you sign up, you will receive a Zoom link to participate. We will be using the same Zoom link through the year. You will also receive the “chants” that we use to open and close meditation as well as the monthly Lectio Divina reading. The chants are simply spoken together with your microphone muted, since Zoom cannot coordinate sounds from different places. The first chant offers basic meditation instructions, and the second places meditation in a cosmic context.
We hope you enjoy the practice and our field of togetherness! Thank you for your presence and intention.
